Data Architect Opportunity in AWS Payments Transformation with Tier 1 UK Bank

A Tier 1 UK bank is seeking aData Architectto join their Payments team. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of payments architecture and drive the adoption of a federated data mesh framework from a domain-first perspective.

In this role, you will design and oversee the data lifecycle, ensuring data is integrated effectively throughout the requirements, design, and delivery phases. Working closely with platform and domain teams, solution and infrastructure architects, and the central data team, you’ll assess technology assumptions, explore implementation options, and build continuous delivery pipelines. Additionally, you’ll translate business needs into technical specifications, including database schemas, streaming structures, and API definitions, while championing adaptive design principles and maintaining data accessibility, accuracy, and security.

Experience Required

• Strong experience with public cloud, preferably AWS
• Strong expertise with Kafka, in particular, with knowledge around data storage and stream processing
• Experience with modern data architecture principles and tools, for example, Snowflake, Databricks, non-relational (NoSQL) databases, metadata
• Experience migrating applications from on-premise to cloud, preferably AWS
• Payments experience is desirable
