You will lead architectural discussions and design exercises to build and automate large scale data migrations with Hakkoda cross functional teams in the US, Portugal and Costa Rica.The successful candidate will have hands-on experience migrating critical databases across multiple database platforms and must be comfortable developing database migration solutions to ensure the clients information is stored effectively and securely. Additionally, you will work closely with Sales teams to provide pre-sales architecture expertise to help ensure engagements are scoped optimally. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills and the ability to guide clients and project team members.You will be joining a team of passionate, forward thinking engineers and data scientists who are charting a new course. Collaborate with clients to understand their business goals, data requirements, and technical constraints. Design scalable, high-performance data architectures using Snowflake to meet these requirements and align with industry best practices.Data Modeling:

Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and usability across the organization. Apply advanced data modeling techniques to optimize data structures for efficient storage, retrieval, and analysis.Data Integration:

Design and implement robust data integration solutions, including data ingestion, transformation, and cleansing processes. Utilize Snowflake's capabilities for data loading, change data capture (CDC), and data replication to ensure accurate and timely data availability.Analytics and Reporting:

Collaborate with data analysts and business intelligence teams to design and optimize data pipelines for analytics and reporting purposes. Implement data aggregation, summarization, and visualization techniques to enable effective data-driven decision-making.Performance Optimization:

Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in data processing and query execution. Optimize data partitioning, clustering, and indexing strategies to improve query performance and reduce costs.Data Governance and Security:

Define and enforce data governance policies, ensuring data quality, privacy, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Implement appropriate access controls and encryption mechanisms to protect sensitive data stored in Snowflake.Consulting and Client Engagement:

Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing technical guidance and expertise in data architecture and Snowflake. Lead workshops, presentations, and discussions to educate clients on best practices and drive successful project outcomes.Research and Innovation:

Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in data architecture, cloud technologies, and Snowflake. Evaluate and recommend new tools, techniques, and methodologies to enhance data architecture capabilities.Technical Engagement in Pre-Sales:

Work closely with the sales organization to build compelling proposals to deliver engagements that drive recognizable customer value.Qualifications:6+ yrs proven work experience in data warehousing/BI/analytics3+ yrs of proven experience as an Architect3+ yrs experience working in Cloud platformsBachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in computer science, information systems, Mathematics, MIS or related fieldStrong knowledge of data integration techniques, including ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, and data streaming with tools like DataStage, Informatica, MatillionProject management skills and experience working with Scrum and Agile Development methodsExtensive hands-on experience in data modeling, schema design, performance tuning, and optimization.Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages (e.g., Python) for data manipulation and automation.Experience with data governance, data security, and compliance frameworks.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable data architectures.Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Proven track record of leading successful data architecture projects, delivering high-quality solutions within agreed timelines and budget constraints.Nice to Have:At least 6-12 months of experience working with SnowflakeUnderstanding of Snowflake design patterns and migration architectures is a major plusUnderstanding of Snowflake roles and user securityUnderstanding of Snowflake capabilities like Snowpipe, etc.SQL scriptingCloud experience on AWS (Azure, GCP are nice to have as well)Python Scripting is a plus£115,000 - £135,000 a yearThe compensation range for this role will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and skills.
