Hybrid working is potentially available, depending on the area and manager. JLR is a multi-site business and you’ll be required to spend time working with different departments at several locations. 

JLR’s graduate programmes are not eligible for sponsorship and therefore, we will only accept applications for this programme from candidates with the unrestricted right to work in the UK for an indefinite period (if you are on a tier 4 student visa or a graduate route visa you are not eligible to apply to this programme).

DATA ANALYTICS CROSS-FUNCTIONAL GRADUATE PROGRAMME


At JLR, we’re at the forefront of transforming movement through cutting-edge data analysis. By leveraging data-driven design, we turn insights into a competitive edge. Our focus on data and analytics drives value, fosters profitable growth, and enhances business efficiency and agility with rapid, actionable insights. 

This industry leading, cross-functional programme will have you working on high-profile projects – gaining insights from industry leaders, experts and senior managers. Your journey begins with a six-week in-person data skills bootcamp, designed to equip you with essential core data capabilities. This foundational training prepares you to be a collaborative and influential member of the team, driving progress from day one.

During the two-year long programme, you’ll be allocated to a primary team, allowing you to develop deep expertise in that area of the business. You’ll also undertake a placement into one of the other cross-functional teams, broadening your experience and skills.

INFORMATION AND DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY (IDT) TEAM - GAYDON 


At the heart of this highly entrepreneurial team, you’ll contribute to pioneering projects, solve commercial problems and influence every aspect of our business. Whether you’re addressing global programmes and organisational design or delivery costs and quality targets, your insights and solutions will create an impact. 

You’ll learn data structures and how to effectively use our analytical tools. You’ll also support the team in solving complex analytics problems, deploying solutions into the business, and creating reusable data assets. You’ll learn how to work in an agile environment (Scrum methodology) and use industry-standard tools such as Jira. You will also gain knowledge of modern development methodologies and processes while assisting the team with user and business engagement, understanding, and documenting requirements.

Throughout your programme, you’ll build your skills in problem structuring, data wrangling, modelling and visualisation, data science and analytical strategy skills. In the final year of your graduate programme, you’ll complete your end-point assessment on a data analytics (DA) or a data engineering (DE) project. Shortly after, you will align to your preferred technical capability (DA/DE).

COMMERCIAL TEAM


Our Commercial team spans over 3,500 colleagues globally and is constantly evolving to ensure we provide a relentless focus on customer experience to deliver a modern luxury experience across all customer touchpoints. 

As the competitive landscape evolves with more digital touchpoints, connected vehicles, and diverse ownership models, we continue to transform our four world-class, modern luxury brands – and data is at the core of this transformation. Throughout this graduate programme, you’ll support your commercial colleagues in driving growth and simplifying processes by understanding our business and customers, placing them at the heart of every decision we make.

You’ll be based in the Customer Experience centre of excellence within the specialist Analytics team, where data is connected from all customer touchpoints, both physical and digital. We create ingenious moments for customers, using advanced technology and machine learning.

You’ll experience three six-month placements within Commercial that include a focus on Data Engineering, Data Science and Data Analytics. You’ll also have one six-month placement within an Analytics cross-functional team in another part of the business.

FINANCE DATA AND ANALYTICS TEAM


Our finance team is at the heart of our mission to deliver sustainable, profitable growth using key information to shape decision-making. The team support JLR operations around the world, spanning engineering, manufacturing and commercial, as well as adding value in core areas such as global finance services, treasury, financial planning, analysis and reporting, accounting and tax. Every day, we harness the insights we gain from data and analytics, using what we learn to influence stakeholders across the business and shape the company of tomorrow.

In your first year, you’ll build your skills in problem structuring, data engineering and modelling and visualisation, using a variety of tools and software. During your second year, you’ll have the opportunity to work in a number of different teams and benefit from a secondment to another function in the business or the data and analytics hub.

ENGINEERING OPERATIONS (EO) TEAM


Engineering Operations underpins technical innovation and product delivery with modern tools and processes, and specialist technical services. We deliver world-class products thanks to our diverse team who work on everything from project management and data analytics through to building and testing prototypes. We’re involved at every stage of the engineering process, helping JLR to transform the way we engineer and deliver our products.

If you join this team, you’ll work within Test Operations or Platform Delivery – focusing on activities such as validating data measurements for testing, developing automation evaluation tools, correlating and validating data or identifying data quality improvements. You’ll develop skills such as agile project management, data quality tools and process development, data management, data presentation and data visualisation. You’ll use such tools as VBA, Python or Tableau to process, transform and visualise data while automating repetitive and menial tasks where possible.

PROPULSION TEAM


Propulsion engineering at JLR is changing - bringing power, performance and connectivity together to create the future of exceptional and environmentally friendly driving experiences. Data is at the heart of this – informing everything we do, from understanding our customer’s preferences, to predicting issues on vehicles before our customer’s even notice them. Data teams help our engineers make sense of complex problems, allowing them to improve vehicle quality and design new features.

As a graduate in this area, you’ll experience a number of placements in different departments, giving you the opportunity to develop your skills across Data Engineering, Data Science and Data Analytics. You’ll also have access to cutting edge tools including Google Cloud Platform.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED 


To join the Data Analytics Cross Functional Graduate Programme, you’ll need to hold or be on track to achieve at least a 2:2 degree in any discipline. We’re particularly keen to receive applications from students with a passion for analytics.

You should be a skilled problem-solver with a curiosity for understanding business challenges and a drive to deliver innovative solutions. Strong numerical and interpersonal skills, along with the confidence to champion new initiatives, are also essential. 

REWARDS AND BENEFITS


Our 2025 graduate programme salary is £32,000, with a £2,000 joining bonus to welcome you to JLR. After two years, you will progress from the graduate programme on a £39,000 salary. In addition, JLR offer a generous holiday allowance, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, excellent pension provisions and access to a wide range of deals and discounts from well-known retailers and sports clubs.
