Data Analyst with VBA programming and PL/SQL


Our Client, a financial institution with offices in Canary Wharf, London, is looking to recruit a Data Analyst with VBA and PL/SQL development experience.


Responsibilities

  • Profile data, analyze datasets, and draw substantive conclusions in response to business questions.
  • Communicate conclusions through clear documentation and verbal communication to both business and IT users.
  • Attend to detail and grasp underlying data complexities.
  • Utilize strong VBA and SQL skills for data profiling and data discovery; maintain high proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Demonstrate development and definitional knowledge of VBA and PL/SQL and ETL concepts (fundamental concepts; actual scripting/development experience is a plus).
  • Engage in BREs and data mapping exercises.
  • Participate in functional and data testing.
  • Understand data modelling concepts and create data flow diagrams.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in the Financial sector.
  • Strong VBA and SQL skills related to data profiling and data discovery; high proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Experience with ETL concepts and definitional knowledge of VBA and PL/SQL (development experience is a plus).
  • Exposure to BREs and data mapping exercises; experience in functional and data testing.
  • Grasp of data modelling concepts and ability to create data flow diagrams.
  • Knowledge of financial markets, ratings, and financial data (significant exposure is a plus, but not required).
  • Strong team player with a focus on quality and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Engagement Details

This is a 3 to 6 month assignment in Canary Wharf, London.
