Power BI Data Analyst – Contract



The Opportunity

A leading public sector organisation is delivering one of the UK’s most ambitious sustainability and infrastructure programmes. To support this, we’re looking for a Power BI Data Analyst with the technical expertise and creativity to turn complex data into meaningful insights.

This role is central to helping senior leaders, project teams, and partner organisations make evidence-based decisions. You’ll work with large, varied datasets, create high-impact dashboards, and ensure data quality and governance is applied consistently.



What You’ll Be Doing

  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, models, and reports across multiple projects and services.
  • Combine, transform, and cleanse data from different sources (using Power Query, DAX, and semantic models).
  • Translate raw data into actionable insights for senior leadership and project teams.
  • Support the organisation’s data governance, quality assurance, and auditing practices.
  • Work collaboratively with digital, data, and technology teams to embed consistent data standards.
  • Present complex information in a clear, engaging way for both technical and non-technical audiences.



What We’re Looking For

  • Proven expertise in Power BI (including Power Query, DAX, semantic modelling).
  • Strong background in data analysis, cleansing, and visualisation.
  • Experience of working with large, complex datasets from multiple sources.
  • Knowledge of data governance, quality assurance, and statistical methods.
  • Ability to manage stakeholders and explain technical insights in plain language.
  • An agile, problem-solving mindset, comfortable working across multiple projects.
