Data Analyst (Philadelphia, PA) – B Lab Global


Location: On-site or Remote in the listed regions; full-time role with standard benefits. This is a remote-first workplace with location-specific residency requirements at the start of employment.


About The Opportunity

The Insights Team exists to enable and produce credible, data-driven insights from our BIA data set to help B Lab and others pursue its theory of change and goal of creating an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy. Specific responsibilities are listed below.


Core Responsibilities

  • Internal analytics, data use, and data provision (60%)

    • Upgrade and maintain dashboards
    • Support managing a ticketing system to respond to data requests across the B Lab network and understand data needs from staff
    • Develop and implement internal data use guidance and training materials through research, data distillation, and sharing findings via presentations or written summaries
    • Manage and maintain external data provision (e.g., data.world)
    • Coordinate with the technology team to update dashboards with accurate data as database schema changes
    • Collaborate with data engineers to optimize data retrieval, storage, and processing
    • Develop and maintain data models to support dashboards and deliver enhanced insights, including machine learning techniques


  • Research and thought leadership (20%)

    • Research and analyze data for internal studies and to contribute to thought leadership pieces
    • Support Global Communications and Global Policy teams with data that supports evidence-informed narratives
    • Support external research partners on thought leadership and research pieces


  • B Lab Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) support (20%)

    • Provide research and data analytics support for the MEL framework
    • Support data analytics required to implement B Lab's MEL framework



About You

  • At least 2 years of professional experience, with at least 1 year focused on data analytics
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail
  • Specialist in BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Metabase, etc.) and querying databases (PostgreSQL, AWS Athena, etc.), and Salesforce
  • Knowledge of programming languages (SQL mandatory; R, Python preferred) and data tools (Excel, Google Sheets) in data analysis or data science
  • Emerging skills in using AI tools to support data analysis with human oversight and responsible use
  • Experience in designing and maintaining scalable data pipelines
  • Adept at applying and explaining basic statistical methods in data storytelling
  • Ability to listen objectively, check assumptions, and reduce bias
  • Experience working across departments with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to understand stakeholder needs and collaborate towards joint results
  • Self-directed with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • BS in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics or comparable education

Compensation Details

B Lab compensation includes:



  • Annual salary in the range of $60,000 – $64,200 based on experience and skills
  • Excellent health benefits including medical, vision, and dental
  • Paid time off: 15 days in the first year (prorated to start date)
  • Additional PTO for organizational closures
  • 403(b) with up to 3% match
  • Unlimited sick and personal time
  • After one year: 40 hours PTO for community service; paid parental leave; PD budget for development
  • Remote-first workplace with flexible work environment

Work location note: Remote-first option; candidate must be a resident and based in Brazil, the Netherlands, the UK, Pennsylvania, New York, or the District of Columbia at start, within commuting distance of offices in São Paulo, Amsterdam, London, Philadelphia, New York City, or Washington, D.C.
