Job Title: Data Analyst

Contract Type: Permanent

The Role

To assist the RAM Business Data Management Office (BDMO) in delivering the Data Strategy within the funds business, as well as developing the automation capabilities to allow greater analysis of the data for all areas of RAM (Rathbones Asset Management).

This is a newly created role within a growing team and business.

Outcomes of the Role
  • Take ownership of the automation/streamlining of the existing manual process using Group strategic tools such as Alteryx, MS Power Apps suite, Snowflake(SQL) and Aperture Data Studio.
  • Data analysis and visualisation to allow for better understanding of data in areas such as Operations, Fund Accounting, Product, RFI, Risk, Performance & Front Office
  • Preparing/contributing to reports for various oversight processes and committees
  • Working with 3rd party service providers to integrate RAM Snowflake into their toolset
  • Support the process of defining data governance around RAM Foundational Data Domains
  • Involvement in the implementation of new self-service dashboards (PowerBI)
  • Participation in team meetings and Steering Committees
  • Production and maintenance of process documents
  • Maintaining records/action points from meetings
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Understanding of the Asset Management Industry
  • Good computer skills and ability to pick up new software and systems
  • Excellent data analysis and problem solving skills
  • Comfortable working in a small team, with good communication skills
  • Familiarity with Office – Excel etc.
  • Experience with Power BI, or other similar software
  • Experience using Alteryx & Snowflake.
  • Power Automate & SFTP/API configuration advantageous.
  • Degree or relevant apprenticeship
  • experience in the financial industry, ideally within Asset Management
  • Interest in financial markets
  • Keen interest in technology and AI
