Working across departments, you will collect, analyse, and interpret large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimization. Your analytical expertise will help improve operational efficiency, inform product development, and support data-driven decision-making throughout the organization. This position requires a blend of technical skills, business acumen, and strong communication abilities to effectively translate complex data findings into actionable recommendations for stakeholders.Your Main Duties & Responsibilities: * Data Collection and Management: Gather data from various sources, ensure data quality, and maintain databases * Data Analysis: Apply statistical methods and analytical tools to analyze complex datasets * Reporting: Create comprehensive reports and dashboards to visualize findings * Problem Solving: Identify business challenges and propose data-driven solutions * Stakeholder Communication: Present findings to non-technical stakeholders in clear, actionable terms * Process Optimization: Recommend improvements to data collection and analysis procedures * Tool Development: Create and maintain data analysis tools and automation scripts * Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with various departments to understand their data needs and requirements * Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of analysis methods and procedures * Data Security: Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and security protocols.Though this position would be primarily office based at Chorley, applicants must be willing to travel and at times work from other locations.Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:Essential Knowledge and Skills: * Technical Skills:Experience with systems used for data analysisFamiliarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)Basic understanding of statistical conceptsAnalysis and Problem-Solving:Analytical thinking and attention to detailBasic understanding of data cleaning and preparationAbility to identify patterns and trends in data * Business Knowledge:Understanding of basic business metrics and KPIsKnowledge of industry-standard reporting practices * Soft Skills:Strong written and verbal communicationTime management and organizationAbility to work independently and in teams * Tools and Software:Microsoft Excel (advanced functions and pivot tables)Basic version control (e.g., Git)Familiarity with data warehousing conceptsDesirable Skills:2 Years experience in a similar role / capacity undertaking data analytics.To be successful in this role you will need to be able to think creatively, maintain an optimistic and positive approach and be ready to learn.
