Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst (SFIA Level 3) with a strong foundation in Python and/or SQL to join our consulting team. This role involves working in multidisciplinary teams to prepare, analyse, and visualise data to support decision-making. The ideal candidate will have experience in ensuring data quality, linking datasets, and presenting insights in an accessible and meaningful way for stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities
Data Preparation and Linkage

  • Ensure new and existing data models and pipelines are reusable and reproducible.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve data quality issues.
  • Prepare, clean, and transform data to ensure it is fit for purpose.

Data Analysis and Synthesis

  • Undertake data profiling and source system analysis.
  • Present insights clearly and concisely to colleagues, supporting effective use of data.

Data Visualisation

  • Select and apply appropriate data visualisation techniques to tell focused, goal-driven stories.
  • Develop inclusive and accessible visualisations that cater to diverse user needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure visualisations meet information requirements.

Making Effective Decisions

  • Understand personal level of responsibility and empower others to make decisions where appropriate.
  • Analyse and apply a range of credible information sources to support decision-making.
  • Engage with stakeholders to consider the impact of decisions on end users.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Working knowledge of Python and/or SQL.
  • Experience with data preparation, cleansing, and quality resolution.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in data profiling.
  • Ability to present insights clearly through effective visualisations.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Understanding of SFIA Level 3 competencies.
  • Must hold or be eligible for SC Clearance.
