We are seeking a Microsoft Fabric Data Analyst to join our technology function. You'll be joining a collaborative team, co-creating tools, supporting each other, providing governance, and building a community. The successful candidate will work with both Public and Private sector clients on a wide range of data‑driven initiatives, from shaping data strategies and building dashboards to developing analytics solutions that deliver actionable insights. You’ll turn complex information into clear, meaningful stories that help our clients make confident, informed decisions.

Key Responsibilities:


Data Analysis and Insight Generation



  • Analyse data from multiple systems to identify trends, patterns and anomalies that support decision making
  • Translate business questions into analytical approaches and deliver clear, insight‑driven outputs
  • Build reports, dashboards and data visualisations that make complex information easy to understand
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide meaningful interpretation of results

Data Quality and Validation



  • Validate and cleanse data to ensure accuracy, completeness and reliability
  • Identify data quality issues and work with technical teams to resolve them
  • Apply validation rules and reconciliation checks to maintain trusted datasets
  • Support the evolution of data quality standards and contribute to continuous improvement

Reporting and Visualisation



  • Develop and maintain dashboards in common BI tools such as Power BI
  • Create reporting solutions that support operational teams as well as senior leadership
  • Document logic, assumptions and data definitions so reports are easy to understand and maintain
  • Work with data engineers to optimise data models and structures for reporting performance
  • Work with datasets stored in Microsoft Fabric and use Fabric Lakehouse structures to support reporting and insight generation

Collaboration and Continuous Improvement



  • Partner with client teams to gather requirements and turn them into actionable analytical outputs
  • Collaborate with data engineers to make effective use of Microsoft Fabric analytics capabilities including Lakehouse data structures and shared datasets
  • Contribute to sprint activities and Agile ceremonies
  • Support user acceptance testing capabilities
  • Share knowledge across the data community of practice and help raise analytical capability across the organisation

Skills & Experience:



  • Experience working with Microsoft Fabric, particularly its analytics and Lakehouse capabilities, to support reporting and insight generation
  • Strong ability to analyse, interpret and communicate insights from data
  • Proficiency with SQL for querying, transforming and validating datasets
  • Experience working with BI and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau or Qlik
  • Understanding of data modelling concepts and best practices for analytics
  • Familiarity with Python or R for more advanced analysis is beneficial
  • Comfortable working with large datasets and joining data from multiple source systems
  • Ability to translate business problems into analytical questions
  • Skilled at identifying root causes, trends and meaningful insights
  • Knowledge of data quality principles and techniques
  • Understanding of relational databases and common enterprise source systems
  • Experience working in Agile or fast‑paced project environments
  • Experience working as part of a technology or professional services consultancy.
