Data Analyst – Public Sector Opportunity

Location: Craigmillar, Edinburgh (Office Based Role)

Rate: £17.72 per hour

Hours: 36 per week, Monday–Friday

Duration: 2 months (with possible extension)

Start: Immediate

Are you an experienced Data Analyst with a passion for turning complex data into actionable insights? Pertemps are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our public sector client, the Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership, for a temporary Data Analyst role.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a real impact in the public sector, using your analytical expertise to support decision-making and improve services across the organisation.

🔑 What you’ll be doing:

Delivering high-quality, complex data analysis to support evidence-based decision making.

Working closely with end users to understand their needs and create meaningful reports and dashboards.

Producing performance summaries using large datasets and innovative analytical techniques.

Identifying trends, risks, and opportunities through data insights.

Presenting data in a clear, visual, and accessible way for non-technical audiences.

Maintaining data quality and improving collection processes.

Supporting the development of information systems and datasets that drive service improvement.

💡 Skills & Experience we’re looking for:

Proven track record in data analysis and reporting.

Advanced Excel skills – confident with formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and data modelling.

Experience using reporting/visualisation tools – Power BI is highly desirable.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Ability to communicate complex insights clearly and persuasively.

Experience with Business Objects (desirable).

Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to build relationships across teams.
