Overview

Role: Data Analyst at Augenblick-Film. The UBDS group is seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our growing Data & Analytics team. This role will design, build, and optimise data models and reporting solutions that provide actionable insights to our clients. The candidate should be proficient in advanced Power BI development, SQL, and dimensional modelling, with proven experience in integrating datasets across platforms such as Dataverse and Databricks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain advanced Power BI reports and dashboards, ensuring efficient data modelling using DAX and M.
  • Implement and optimise DirectQuery and Import mode solutions for scalable and high-performing reporting.
  • Build robust dimensional models that support time-travel and snapshot reporting for historical trend analysis and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and optimise SQL queries to support reporting, analysis, and data integration tasks.
  • Integrate and transform datasets from Dataverse and Databricks into consumable Power BI solutions.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective data solutions that drive decision-making.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across all reporting solutions.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to colleagues and clients on data visualisation best practices and analytics capabilities.
RequirementsTechnical Skills
  • Expert-level proficiency with Power BI, including DAX, M, advanced modelling techniques, DirectQuery, and Import.
  • Strong SQL skills, with the ability to write complex queries for analysis and integration.
  • Experience in dimensional modelling, including star and snowflake schema design.
  • Demonstrated capability in time-travel and snapshot reporting methodologies.
  • Practical experience with integrating data from Dataverse and Databricks into reporting workflows.
Experience & Knowledge
  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst, BI Developer, or similar role in a data-driven environment.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality principles, and best practices for visualisation.
  • Experience working within consultancy, financial services, or other regulated industries (desirable).
Certifications (desirable but not essential)
  • Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate (Power BI).
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate.
