Purpose

The Commercial Data Analyst plays a critical role in driving data-led commercial decision-making across Spabreaks.com. Working closely with the CFO, Head of Data and senior stakeholders across Product, Marketing and Commercial teams, you will turn complex financial and non-financial data into clear, actionable insight.

This role sits at the intersection of finance, trading performance and digital analytics. You will own and evolve core commercial reporting, interrogate performance drivers across venues, channels and customer journeys, and support strategic initiatives aimed at accelerating growth, improving margin and enhancing customer value.


Responsibilities

  • Provide insights and analysis on venue, chain, and channel performance in line with budget targets, while monitoring daily performance across bookings, vouchers and call centre to ensure progress against plan
  • Support CFO with budgeting, forecasting and ad-hoc commercial analysis
  • Monitor daily, weekly and monthly trading performance and highlight risks and opportunities, producing trading packs for senior management and board discussions
  • Own and improve commercial and trading dashboards across BI tools
  • Ensure data consistency and accuracy across reporting systems working closely with the Head of Data
  • Analyse digital and website performance to identify growth opportunities
  • Identify strategic and tactical opportunities to increase average transaction value (ATV) and margin, while scoping additional revenue opportunities and assessing their potential benefits and costs.
  • Analyse promotional and loyalty scheme performance
  • Assist the digital marketing team in shaping strategies and guiding marketing efforts


Skills

  • Experience in analysing commercial, financial and marketing data to generate actionable insights
  • Experience with BI tools such as Tableau (preferred), Power BI or Amazon QuickSight
  • Intermediate/advanced Excel knowledge, comfortable creating and updating relatively complex models and creating charts and presentations
  • Working knowledge of SQL and large datasets (e.g. BigQuery)
  • Experience in e-commerce, travel or consumer digital businesses preferred
  • Commercial mindset with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Part qualified accountant or financial analyst (ACCA, CIMA, CFA) an advantage but not essential
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
