Role Overview: We are seeking adetail-oriented Cheminformatics Engineer who is passionate aboutdeveloping transformative technology to enhance the productivity ofdrug design. If you thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinaryenvironment and have the skills below, we’d love to hear from you.Key Responsibilities: * Build strong relationships with Dalton’spartners and deliver transformational projects. * Collaborate withcross-functional teams—including data science, softwareengineering, and product development to integrate noveltechnologies. * Develop cutting-edge AI methods and integrate theminto robust products that improve partner efficiency. * Deliverrobust, extensible, and maintainable software solutions,translating high-level business objectives into technicalimplementations. * Drive your work with minimal supervision,managing the full software lifecycle from requirements capture toplanning and execution. * Stay informed about advancements inrelevant scientific research and apply this knowledge to your work.Capabilities: * Master’s or PhD in Computational Chemistry (e.g.,Cheminformatics or Quantum Mechanics) or Artificial Intelligenceapplied to scientific problem-solving. * Proven track record ofimpactful contributions to scientific projects. * Advancedproficiency in Python or experience with other programminglanguages (e.g., Java, C/C++). * Strong communication skills,capable of conveying complex scientific concepts to diverseaudiences. * Inclusive team player, open to learning from othersand contributing to a collaborative environment. * Desire torapidly transition novel chemical AI research into productionenvironments to transform drug discovery. Beneficial Skills AndExperience: * Artificial Intelligence: Experience withstate-of-the-art methods such as graph neural networks,transformers, Gaussian processes, generative modeling, orreinforcement learning. * Cheminformatics: Knowledge of chemistrydata storage, formats, and synthesis prediction; proficiency withtoolkits such as RDKit or OpenEye. * Quantum Mechanics: Experienceapplying QM techniques to synthesis prediction, including using QMtoolkits (e.g., PSI4, Orca, Gaussian). * Experience with datacuration and processing from heterogeneous sources; familiaritywith tools like Apache Spark or Hadoop. * Proficiency with cloudplatforms (AWS, GCP, Azure). * Familiarity with major machinelearning frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch). *Open-source contributions or publications demonstrating expertisein machine learning for scientific applications. * Hands-onexperience with best software development practices incollaborative environments.
