Senior Engineer - Structural Analysis Supercar andAutomotive United Kingdom In this role, you will lead structuralanalysis efforts, guiding the engineering design of our productsfrom initial concept to detailed development. You will collaborateclosely with the Vehicle Development team and coordinate withsuppliers to ensure timely engineering support. As a Senior CAEEngineer you will be: - Strength and Performance Assessment:Evaluate the strength, stiffness, fatigue, and crash performance ofcomponents and vehicles through linear static and non-linearanalyses using advanced software tools. - Conceptual Analysis andCalculations: Provide support to design teams by conductingconceptual analyses and hand calculations to develop and validateengineering designs, including optimisation and multi-bodydynamics. - Load Case Definition: Define and report load cases forthe vehicle and its subsystems, collaborating with the vehicledynamics team to identify relevant road loads. - Attributes andTarget Setting: Establish essential attributes for the vehicle andset both high-level and detailed performance targets in conjunctionwith the homologation team to meet certification requirements. -Testing and Validation Planning: Plan and define tests toobjectively assess structural performance at various levels,ensuring alignment with specified attributes and reporting resultsto project stakeholders. - CAE Task Management: OverseeComputer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tasks by managing documentation,providing updates to stakeholders, and preparing detailed reportson CAE progress. - Testing Support: Assist in testing efforts byensuring compliance with requirements and guiding the vehicledevelopment team in validating components and subsystems usingstandardised methods. - Development of Calculation Tools: Spearheadthe creation of tools for repetitive calculations, promotingstandardisation and improved processes to enhance efficiency instructural analysis. - Correlation of Data: Ensure alignment ofdesign tools and methods with certified data to accuratelyrepresent the real-world behaviour of structures. As a Senior CAEEngineer you will have: - Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace,Automotive Engineering, or a related field (Bachelor's, Master's,or PhD) - Experience in structural analysis (stress, stiffness,fatigue, optimization) within high-performance automotive,motorsport, or aerospace sectors - Proficient in simulationsoftware, especially Altair's Hyperworks suite or similar tools -Practical knowledge of nCode Design Life software - Familiaritywith analyzing test data and correlating it with CAE results -Understanding of FEA material characterization for metals andcomposites - Experience in both conceptual and detailed designacross vehicle functions - Advanced skills in MS Excel - Preferredexperience with scripting/programming languages like Python ortools such as Matlab Piques your interest?
