5VTech are supporting a global leader in the waste and recycling industry with the recruitment of an C++ software engineer.

This client designs, manufactures and sells optical sorting equipment for waste management and recycling and they are looking for a C++ focused embedded engineer to work at their office based near Aix-en-Provence.

You will be joining a software team of around 15 people and you will be responsible for the day-to-day tasks of embedded software programming, debugging, software development and design.

The software that you will create is used in a waste sorting machine which makes use of sensors, detectors and infrared cameras to sort waste into the appropriate areas. As demand for this machinery grows, you will be in charge of making new improvements which includes the integration of an AI machine learning model.

The key skills required:

• Must have experience with C++ - (They use C++ 11 and are moving to C++ 17)
  
  
• Strong experience of working in Linux environments - Preferably with Embedded Linux
  
  
• Experience with different microcontrollers
