In a significant milestone, Brunel University London has secured funding of £2.6 million from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) to create a Place Based Impact Acceleration Account (PBIAA). Called “Net-zero Food Supply Chains”, this pioneering project is set to make a substantial impact on the food supply systems operating within West London's vibrant Park Royal Industrial Estate. Colloquially known as ‘London’s Kitchen’, Park Royal hosts over 500 businesses in the food and drink sector, producing about 30% of London’s food and drink and contributing about £8bn a year to the economy.

Position Title: Business Development Manager Park Royal Net Zero

Department/College: Research Support and Development Office (RSDO)

Location: Brunel University London, Uxbridge Campus

Salary: Grade 8from: £44,240 to £56,903 inclusive of London Weighting with potential to progress to £63,706 per annum inclusive of London Weighting.

Hours: Full-time

Contract Type: Fixed-term 48 months

This pioneering project is set to make a substantial impact on the food supply systems operating within West London's vibrant Park Royal Industrial Estate. Colloquially known as ‘London’s Kitchen’, Park Royal hosts over 500 businesses in the food and drink sector, producing about 30% of London’s food and drink and contributing about £8bn a year to the economy.

The postholder will develop and deliver a strategy for external collaboration with key stakeholders in the food and drink sector on the Park Royal Industrial Estate to meet the requirements of our grant from the EPSRC. They will be required to liaise extensively with relevant external stakeholders and to build strategic collaborations with business, policy-makers and academic groups with interests in the Park Royal Industrial Estate aligned to the research strengths of the university in net zero energy systems, AI & big data or waste reduction and valorisation.

The post-holder will have primary responsibility for working with Park Royal businesses but will work as a team with the other Business Development Managers to leverage joint knowledge and contacts for the benefit of the University.
