About The Role

We have an opportunity for a Data (Business) Analyst to join our Enterprise Data team, supporting the delivery of data solutions to our business and customers. In this role, we’d like you to help us deliver best practice and centre of excellence for all our data analysis activities.


Your Mission

  • Collaborate with different stakeholders to understand their analytical needs.
  • Understanding business requirements and converting them into technical requirements.
  • Translating technical requirements, terminology and solutions into digestible updates and explanations for business stakeholders.
  • Technical analysis of data sets to understand structure, quality and use of data to inform delivery of products.
  • Plan, develop and update the complex modelling and analysis activities.
  • Maintain functional and other associated documents including business & technical specifications, and documentation of analysis results using agreed methodologies.
  • Liaising with wider Enterprise Data team to deliver data products by providing business requirements and technical understanding of data sets.
  • Building strong relationships and collaborating cross-functionally to transfer knowledge that supports the development of other departments’ research and processes.
  • Support data governance and data management activities, including identifying where data governance activities are required.

Skills & Experience That Will Set You Up for Success in This Role

  • Data Solution Delivery: Experience in delivering data analysis solutions, including prototyping, project documentation and recommendations.
  • Problem Solving: Triage, investigation and analysis of issues relating to data assets, data solutions, structure or process.
  • Process Mapping: Map business process to underlying data structures used to record and manage data assets.
  • Stakeholder Management: Experience in working with customers to understand business requirements and deliver products focused on customer value.
  • Data Modelling: Handle and model large amounts of data, create solutions to solve problems and to answer key business questions.
  • Requirements Gathering: Gathering and documenting business requirements from business stakeholders. Experienced in understanding stakeholder needs and translate them into functional and technical specifications.
  • Technical Skills: Demonstrable experience in using SQL and Python (or equivalent).
  • Analytics Skills: Analyse complex, high-volume, high-dimensional data using data analysis techniques. Development of queries and data visualisations to present findings.
  • Practical experience within a Data and Analytics team.

When We Work

Our standard working hours are 8:30 - 16:30 Monday - Thursday, early finish on Friday 8:30 - 15:45.

We understand the benefits of remote and in-person collaboration, and therefore have a hybrid working model – you’ll be expected to work from our office in Thatcham at least two days per week.

Our active safety track site is one of the leading accredited Euro NCAP testing facilities, trialling and assessing the very latest developments in vehicle safety and assistance technologies.
