Role Summary
We are seeking a talented Power BI developer to join our Business Intelligence team. The ideal candidate will possess both strong data visualisation skills to delight our customers combined with technical expertise in SQL, Power BI, Power Automate and Microsoft Azure with a strong background in report development, data modelling, data warehousing, strong stakeholder management relationship, good communication and collaboration skills.
Role Accountabilities
Strategy
- Design, develop, test and deliver Power BI reports and dashboards that provide insightful and actionable business intelligence in line with agreed architecture and design standards.
- Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders to understand business needs and translate business requirements into technical specifications offering data driven solutions.
- Connect to various data sources, import, and transform data for business intelligence.
- Develop calculated measures and columns with DAX in Power BI
- Optimise BI dashboards with a focus on usability, performance, flexibility, scalability and standardisation.
- Follow Data Governance Framework and collaborate towards its enforcement
- Translating requirements and business opportunities into easy-to-understand reports on Power BI.
- Produce consistent technical documentation for accessibility and understanding.
- Optimise table design, data models and semantic models for onward consumption by content creators across the firm.
- Observe configuration management and change control methods.
- Offer technical support and training for other team members and end-users.
- Ensure the appropriate configuration, backup and restoration of BI tools and systems.
- Continuous learning mindset to remain current on new BI technologies, capabilities and best practices.
- Developing optimised solutions to deliver accurate outputs in a timely manner.

- Curious to identify patterns in data and how they relate to the business outcomes.
Operations
- Work with cross-functional teams to gather, document, and approve business requirements for deep data analysis and reporting projects. Including; developing and updating technical documentation.
- Create interfaces and mechanisms for the data flow and access of information.
- Clean the data, removing duplicates, and conforming data to specific data model. Store the normalised data in the data warehouse or in a relational database.
- Data normalisation and modelling as part of the transform step of ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Model business logic, extract key performances metrics, and create reusable data structures.
- Maintain data so that it remains available and usable e.g. SQL (Basic, Advanced modelling, Efficient, Big Data and Programmatic).
- Data managing such as reshaping, aggregating, joining disparate sources, etc. small-scale ETL, API interaction, and automation e.g. Python.
- Interface with cross-functional teams to build centralised tools that will allow for rapid defect detection and repair.
- Analyse and synthesize large data streams across multiple inputs.
- Any additional duties as assigned.
Role Requirements
- Degree level education in relevant subject (e.g. finance, maths, physics etc.)
- Other beneficial qualifications (e.g. MBA, CFA, etc.)
- Previous experience and good understanding of Azure/Fabric data tools
- Project Management and experience with software development methodologies such as Agile
Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in Structured Query Language (SQL), Critical Thinking, R or Python-Statistical Programming, Data Visualization, Presentation Skills, Machine Learning & Data Science techniques, Econometrics.
- Strong Data Mapping skills, knowledge of Data Warehousing Concepts, conceptual to Logical to physical Modelling Skills.
- Strong Business Analyst skills including process mapping, requirements gathering, stakeholder management.
- Proficient in Power BI.
- Proven ability to motivate and influence small and/or large technical teams.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills – Excel (data manipulation, lookups, pivot tables, macros) and PowerPoint (clear, concise, well formatted reporting).
- Business focused and able to establish and maintain stakeholder relationships.
- Understanding of project management, change management and systems processes.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to influence others.
- Platforms & Tools: Cloud Computing platforms (ADLS Gen2), Microsoft Stack (Synapse, DataBricks, Fabric, Profisee, Purview, Power BI).
- Languages: Python, SQL, T-SQL, SSIS.
- DB: Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB, NoSQL.
- Methodologies: Agile, DevOps.
