We have an exciting opportunity for a talented data analyst to join the NLPSS Reporting and systems team responsible for reporting, analytics and systems management and development required across the NLPSS service offering, including but not limited to Recruitment and Occupational Health.


The shared service is continually developing, and this role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to help formulate our direction and strategy using their expertise and a can‑do attitude.


We are looking for a proactive self‑starter with excellent interpersonal skills who is willing to innovate and work collaboratively to meet service requirements.


The successful candidate will have proven delivery experience in a complex reporting and systems environment, ideally with experience of NHS employee systems like ESR, TRAC and G2, using advanced Excel, SQL and PowerBI alongside other tools to ensure optimum delivery of requirements.


Meticulous attention to detail, problem‑solving skills and a flexible approach to providing advice, guidance and training to improve data quality are essential.


We operate office and remote working in a friendly and caring office environment with a strong employee network to ensure we maintain our mission to ‘Deliver excellent patient care through an outstanding employee experience’.

Main duties of the role:



  • Deliver business as usual reporting requirements to aid service delivery and monitor performance.
  • Build dashboards and visualisations to bring data to life.
  • Deep dive into complex data sets to uncover trends, anomalies and insights.
  • Design and run experiments to test hypothesis and measure impact.
  • Drive data quality improvements working collaboratively with all colleagues across NLPSS, partners and external suppliers.
  • Deputise for the Reporting and Systems lead as required.
