If you join our data analytics capability, you will be part of a wider growing audit team of around 1,400 people who are committed to quality, technical excellence, and adding value both within Forvis Mazars and our industry. In the fast-moving world of business, comprehensive and robust auditing continues to be invaluable, and our teams provide audit and assurance services which are vital to our clients' business control and credibility.

As part of Audit Transformation, data analytics services allow the development of bespoke analytics solutions tailored to our clients and standardised solutions / end-user tools to allow delivery at scale across the audit portfolio. These solutions enable and empower our auditors to leverage data and technology in order to enhance the quality and efficiency of audit engagements. We utilise an agile delivery model, enabling our teams to be involved in different and varied projects and audit analytics delivery including bespoke and standardised data analytics, governance, advanced (AI-ML) analytics, end-user tools development and support, as well as robotic process automation (RPA) services.

Job Purpose

The role of an auditor is to ensure financial statements produced by audited entities are ‘true and fair' and an accurate representation of the transactions and balances they claim to represent. As a Data Analyst, you will be supporting in developing audit analytics tools and re-performable audit analytics across Forvis Mazars UK to support the audit team to provide a high quality, robust and efficient audit. The purpose of the position is to fundamentally unlock insights contained in data and create solutions to challenges related to the delivery of external audit.

We are now operating a hybrid working model, so you will split your time working at your base office, client sites when required, or working from home.

We are looking for candidates with a strong interest in technology and desire to learn and progress.

Role & Responsibilities
Working closely with key stakeholders in audit and the centre of excellence team to deploy standard analytics solutions;
Supporting with the design and development of tools / bespoke solutions;
Ensuring all stakeholders are kept fully informed of any issues arising and the progress of the work;
Working independently and follow best practices for application development;
Delivering work to the highest technical standards including ensuring work is conducted in line with Forvis Mazars quality standards;
Ensuring all work is undertaken to budget and meets the KPIs;
Building and developing long term relationships with senior stakeholders across the firm;
Maintaining control and stability under pressure whilst recognising the deadline or urgency to be dealt with;
Working within a team to innovate and develop new data driven solutions to solve critical challenges and data puzzles;
Working with various audited entities, building a strong understanding of their business or organisation, and providing exceptional service;
Learning how to prepare professional audit documents in line with our audit methodology using audit software and systems;and
Developing a thorough understanding of financial statements.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
On track to achieve or have obtained a Master's degree in business analytics, data-science, statistics or equivalent programme focused on data and analytics.
Strong work ethic; the desire to get things done and to learn and progress.
Ability to express ideas with conviction throughout verbal and written communication.

Desirable but not essential: Experience with R and / or Python, data visualisation tools such as Power Bi.
Desirable but not essential: experience in Alteryx, Microsoft Azure, databases and querying using SQL, AI, tool development and the Microsoft Power Platform.
