We’re embarking on a newand exciting phase of the bank’s transformation agenda, and thebank’s enterprise data marketplace is a critical enabler of ourmission to simplify, reduce risk and enable customer engagement andpersonalisation. This agenda is critical to driving simplification,enabling advanced and agile analytics and delivering exceptionalexperience to ourcustomers.
As an ArchitectLead, you’ll be defining and communicating the current, resultantand target state architecture for your assigned scope. You’ll bemaking sure that the architecture links to, and is informed by, ouroverall strategy and architecture, and produces the architectureoutcomes. We’ll look to you strongly influence the development ofbusiness strategies within your function and across the bank,identifying transformational opportunities for our businesses andtechnology areas associated with both new and existingtechnologies.
In addition,you’ll will manage and mentor a team of specialist and seniorenterprise architects supporting the enterprise architecture fordata marketplace, shared data platforms and climate data fosteringa collaborative, high performance culture that encouragesinnovation. You’ll also drive adoption and enforcement of dataarchitecture across the bank and act as the expert in datamarketplace, shared data platforms, data product architecture, dataintegration and dataprocessing.
As well as this,you’llbe:
- Translatingarchitecture roadmaps into packages of work that allow frequentincremental delivery of value to be included in productbacklog
- Defining, creating and maintainingarchitecture models, roadmaps, standards and outcomes, usingarchitecture strategies to ensure alignment to adjacent and higherlevel model
- Working closely with businessowners, portfolio managers, product managers and release managersto define the target intentionalarchitecture
- Leading complex and technicallychallenging architectural transformations, coordinating design andplatform teams across domains
- Seeking out andutilising continuous feedback, fostering adaptive design andengineering practices to drive the collaboration of programmes andteams around a common technical vision
- Leading,influencing and governing data market place and shared dataplatforms architectures ensuring these meet the banks datasourcing, data management and data discoverydemands
- Identifying gaps in data architectureculture and skills across your areas of management and influencingsupporting plans to resolve, providing mentorship wherenecessary
Theskills you'll need
We’relooking for someone with a background in defining business andapplication architectures and roadmaps for complex enterprises. Tothrive in this role, you’ll need expert knowledge and experience ofshared data platforms and general data architecture, and in-depthknowledge of application, integration, security, infrastructure,and data management architecture with a good knowledge of theremaining architecture disciplines. You’ll also have knowledge ofall data reporting, analyses, visualisation, ingestion, processingand storage capabilities and technologytrends.
You’ll be the thoughtleader of data market place and reporting or analytics platformsfor the bank, influencing business and technology strategiesacross franchises and functions. You’ll have excellentcommunication and influencing skills with the ability to clearlycommunicate complex technical concepts to colleagues, up to seniorleadership level, along with a good understanding of Agilemethodologies with experience of working in an Agileteam.
You’ll alsodemonstrate:
- Experienceas an enterprise architect with focus on shared data platforms anddata marketplace
- Strong knowledge of wider dataarchitecture topics such as data modelling, data analysis, dataintegration, events, data storage and solutionarchitecture
- Experience and knowledge of AWSData Stack, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Kafka, ElasticSearch, Neo4J,Streamsets, EMR or Spark, Tableau, Snowflake andPowerBI
- In-depth knowledge of metadatamanagement architecture patterns andsolutions
- Knowledge of data lineage and datacataloguing
- Knowledge of data mesh, domaindriven design, data lake, data warehouse, ods, data mart, datafabric and data federation architecturepatterns
- Strong collaboration, stakeholdermanagement and problem solving skills
- Criticalthinking skills, enabling you to cut through complexity, and makesound decisions and recommendations that are carefully balancedagainst risk
