About the Team

TheCustomer Experience & Artificial Intelligence (CX&AI) teamis accountable for creating, configuring, launching, and running digital products, services, technologies, and experiences that engage consumers and physicians while improving patient value, access, and outcomes. We also drive digital enablement internally for our colleagues and workforce.

This role sits within theCX&AI team, supporting the development and deployment of AI-driven solutions that enhance website delivery services and broader digital experiences.

What can I achieve and what will I be accountable for whilst completing a placement at Pfizer?

TheAI Developer Undergraduatewill play a key role in supporting the CX&AI team in delivering high-impact, AI-driven initiatives. This role will work closely with various teams across Pfizer Digital to design, implement, and optimize AI models and solutions that drive automation, efficiency, and personalization in digital experiences.

Key Tasks:

• Partner with internal teams in Pfizer Digital to develop and integrate AI-powered solutions for website delivery services and digital tools.

• Work with commercial colleagues and client partners to comprehend business requirements and identify AI-driven opportunities to enhance digital engagement.

• Assist in the development and deployment of machine learning models, natural language processing (NLP) solutions, and AI-powered automation tools.

• Support the integration of AI models into digital platforms, ensuring seamless functionality and user experience.

• Optimize AI models for performance, accuracy, and scalability, conducting regular testing and fine-tuning based on data-driven insights.

• Partner with developers, data scientists, and engineers to build and maintain AI pipelines and infrastructure.

• Stay up to date with emerging AI trends, technologies, and industry best practices to drive innovation within the team.

• Document and maintain accurate records of AI development processes, including model training, version control, and deployment workflows.

When can I start?

Placements will start on 1st September 2025 and will run for 12 months.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Type of person we are looking for, in relation to ‘Skills’, ‘Knowledge’ and ‘Motivation’:

Completing placement as part of University Degree either through Year In Industry/Industrial Placement or Gap Year Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field at a UK University, with an interest in completing a year in industry placement. A strong foundational comprehension of AI technologies, machine learning algorithms, and data analysis techniques. Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++  Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively when tackling technical challenges. A genuine interest in the development and application of AI solutions to real-world problems. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Demonstrated motivation and resilience to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, evolving field, and a proactive approach to personal and professional development. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being capable of taking initiative and working freely on projects.
