Data Engineer

Location: London, UK
Length: 6 Months
Rate: £45.19 - £50.00 p/h
Hours: 9am-6pm

Overview:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to develop, evaluate, test, and maintain scalable data solutions that drive strategic business outcomes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to improve processes, build robust data pipelines, and deliver insightful dashboards that support key decision-making within their Business Messaging Experiences team.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable data management systems.
  • Develop ETL processes and high-performance data algorithms.
  • Build and maintain dashboards to visualize insights and track trends.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DE, DS, Product, Engineering) to identify process and data improvements.
  • Own projects end-to-end — from design to deployment.
  • Create technical design documentation and participate in regular reviews.


 Skills and Experience:

  • SQL: 5+ years of hands-on experience.
  • Python: 5+ years of experience developing data pipelines and solutions.
  • ETL & Data Modelling: Strong understanding of best practices and optimization techniques.
  • Data Visualization:Ability to design dashboards that effectively communicate complex insights.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Communication: Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical/STEM field.
  • Experience in large-scale consumer tech or product-focused companies (e.g., Monzo, Deliveroo).
  • Master’s degree in a technical or quantitative field.
  • Familiarity with in-house browser analytics and business messaging products.
  • Big Tech, Fintech, or other Product-led organizations
  • Strong product sense
  • Strategic mindset


Team & Project Insights:

  • Team Structure: 4 Data Engineers based in London.
  • Manager: Contractor will report directly to the hiring manager.
  • Collaboration: Frequent interaction with partner Monetization teams, Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Engineers.
  • Work on the "Non-Supply" pillar (e.g., authentication, utility, marketing messages).
  • Develop measurement tools for in-app browser performance.
  • Build pipelines, data models, and dashboards.
  • Identify and address data gaps.
