Description 2nd Line Infrastructure Engineer UNLEASHYOUR POTENTIAL We are looking for someone with a passion forinfrastructure, ideally from an operational support servicesbackground. You must also demonstrate an analytical and systematicapproach to technical challengesAre you ready for your next careerchallenge? The preferred candidate will demonstrate effectiveapplication of Infrastructure and extensive knowledge across avariety of technologies such as Linux (Ubuntu / CentOS), MicrosoftWindows Server (including services such as AD, DNS, DHCP) andvirtualisation (Hyper-V), Microsoft Stack Technologies (Sharepoint,SQL Server, Skype for Business / Teams), networking technologiesand storage.Your Role and Responsibilities.The role will providetechnical exposure variance across both outcomes based projectactivities and operational (Business as Usual) support activities.The duties of the role will also include providing remote andon-site support. There is also a requirement to provide out ofhours on call support.You will be expected to contribute towardsthe creation and ongoing maintenance of technical documentation andprovide material to support the project work or the operationalsupport service.SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:Have excellent knowledge ofVirtualized Environments such as VMware and Hyper-V, with knowledgeof VMware horizon being an advantage;Have excellent knowledge ofWindows Server Environments, from Server 2008 – 2022, including OSbuild Windows 10 & 11, AD, DNS, DHCP and GPO from design toimplementation and support;Have strong Linus system administrationskills (Ubuntu / CentOS);Have good general knowledge of TCP/IP andnetworking technologies including load balancing and firewalls;Havegood general knowledge of Microsoft stack technologies such asSharePoint, Skype for Business / Teams, MS SQL, MS System Centre,Office365, SCCM & SCOM, Power BI, MS Exchange & CLI toolingsuch as PowerShell;Have good general knowledge of SAN storagetechnologies;Have knowledge of 2 Factor-AuthenticationTechnologies;Have some knowledge/ experience with scripting;Haveexcellent analysis and problem solving skills, taking ownership ofcomplex incidents ensuring these are resolved to the satisfactionof the customer;Possess excellent communication skills;Haveexperience of producing and updating technical documentation to ahigh standard;Have knowledge of helpdesk based ticketingsystem;Have ITIL3 or ITIL 4 at the Foundation level orabove.Location: Huntingdon, CambridgeshireClearance Requirements:You must be eligible for UK DV Security Clearance.
