We’ve formed a Joint Venture project called ConnectPlus Services (CPS) to work with our partners to widen, operate andmaintain the M25 under a 30-year contract and are looking for aData Architect to develop, manage and lead our corporate datastrategy. As a Data Architect, you’ll be crucial in deliveringsolutions for the Digital Data Lake in the JV. You’ll developsolutions for specific business needs, understand businessrequirements, and review solution impacts. You will be accountablefor the data architecture of the M25 IT systems and a roadmap ofactivities aligned with architectural principles to improvelong-term architecture. We are looking for a self-starter who canwork independently while collaborating with business teams asneeded. Key responsibilities: Develop and lead data strategy: *Formulating and executing a comprehensive corporate-level datastrategy that aligns with business objectives and drivesorganisational growth. * Identify opportunities for leveraging datato achieve business goals and enhance operational efficiency. *Design, develop, and maintain complex data models to supportbusiness intelligence initiatives, with a strong focus on Power BIreporting. * Ensure data models are scalable, reliable, andoptimised for performance to facilitate insightful and actionablebusiness analytics. Data Governance: * Collaborate withcross-functional teams to support the implementation and ongoingmanagement of the data governance framework. * Define and enforcedata governance policies, standards, and best practices to ensuredata quality, consistency, and security. Strategic Thinking andDecision Influence: * Provide strategic insights andrecommendations to influence data-related decisions at thecorporate level. * Partner with senior leadership to integrate datastrategy into broader business strategies and initiatives.Stakeholder Engagement: * Engage with key stakeholders tounderstand data needs, gather requirements, and deliver tailoreddata solutions. * Communicate complex data concepts and strategiesto non-technical audiences in a clear and compelling manner.Qualifications: * A previous experience of coordination of smalltechnology teams. * Capability to understand and pre-empt businessrequirements. * Capability of translating business requirementsinto technology solutions. * Presenting skills. * Engaging seniorlevel stakeholders and obtaining buy-in. * Proven experience indeveloping and leading corporate-level data strategies. * Extensivehands-on experience with complex data modelling, particularly forPower BI reports. * Strong strategic thinking and problem-solvingskills, with the ability to influence data-related decisions at thehighest levels. The following technologies are essential, and agood familiarity is required, including development methodologiesand related programming languages (SQL, scripting) skills: * AmazonAWS environment. * Redshift. * Power BI (authoring andadministration). * MS SQL Server family (development andadministration). * Fundamentals of networking and Microsoft EntraID. Familiarity with the following technologies is desirable butnot essential: * Power Apps. * ESRI ArcGis. * Microsoft 365Platform. * Lambda. * R or Python for data science.
