Virtual Build and Test Operations is a growing team within the wider Engineering Operations function. We are uniquely positioned to support the transition of our products from the virtual world to the physical world. As well as owning and operating a world class Virtual Series Framework, we are also on a journey to drive optimisation and transformation into the overall Verification and Validation strategy. Our approach is to focus on our ability to Virtually Build and Test our products with greater speed, confidence and coverage than ever before, and to unlock all of the time, cost, quality and sustainability benefits associated with increased virtual capabilities.
As a Non-Geometric Data (NGD) Analyst, you will be working within the Model Build and NGD team and be responsible for the planning and delivery co-ordination of engineering data required to build simulation (CAE) models. Simulation models are used by various Engineering Teams to conduct virtual design verification assessments on our future programmes.
You will establish trusting relationships with teams across the Engineering organisation. You will develop close working relationships with the Engineering Teams that design programme specific components and systems and deliver the associated engineering data required for our simulation activities on specific product development programmes. Through these relationships you will ensure robust delivery plans are in place to deliver on time and to the necessary quality to achieve the status of our luxury brand. You will also identify opportunities to transform the way we work to allow us to gather the engineering data we need more efficiently. You will be part of a collaborative, iterative and agile team of engineers helping to deliver best in class digital solutions to the business and its customers.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

  • Create and maintain NGD plans and ensure alignment with all data providers and communication to stakeholders
  • Provide regular programme status for NGD workstream and support the co-ordination of the overall Virtual Series plan
  • Engage with new data providers as required by growing team scope, modelling capability, or simulation of new technologies.
  • Proactively identify quality issues and drive resolution of any issues identified.
  • Escalate issues preventing the on-time delivery of engineering data
  • Analyse data issue records to initiate, guide and inform prevent reoccurrence activities in appropriate areas
  • Drive continuous improvement actions to improve operational efficiency and lead or support activities to prevent reoccurrence of any delivery timing or quality failures
  • Undertake any other work as directed by the Model Build and NGD Delivery Manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time
    WHAT YOU'LL NEED
    Essential:
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas, high level plans, and large amounts of data to stakeholders and higher management.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills in approaching technical issue resolution
  • Strong team leadership capabilities
  • Experience of project management, planning and delivery
  • Previous experience in leading prevent recurrence activities
  • Be capable of expediting successful delivery through assertiveness, strong interpersonal skills, and negotiation with a wide range of multi-functional teams.
  • Be highly driven, self-motivated and able to deliver under pressure with minimum supervision
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
    Desirable:
  • Knowledge of whole vehicle automotive product design and operation
  • Knowledge of a range of CAD, CAE and other virtual assessment processes, methods and tools
  • Knowledge and experience of delivery using Agile methodologies and Scrum would be beneficial
