Job Details

We are looking for an Mid-Level Data Scientist who will work with a team of expert Data Analysts/Scientists/Engineers and a team of very experienced and talented developers. Prior experience of working with data analytics and data science technology is compulsory. You will be developing your skill levels and working with the latest technologies as you progress with the company.

Programming experience is necessary and successful candidates should have at least 3 years of experience being in a data related occupation to be considered.

Responsibilities for Data Scientist

  • Working with various existing models to help maintain their day-to-day operation and performance.
  • Analyse data from existing models to identify and potentially rectify weaknesses and bugs.
  • Running analytics on data to extract statistics, patterns and translate them into actionable decisions. Eventually designing machine learning models and algorithms to contribute to the existing advanced technologies.
  • Work together with the developer team and assist on data/statistics related tasks.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders in-order to find the right questions to ask from the data with actionable insights and analysis to support decision making efforts.
  • Communicate and present technical information with non-technical team members and stakeholders.
  • Transform data using ETL tools such as DBT to help make it more accessible to the wider business.
  • You will work with time series graphing services such as Grafana in order to create visualisations, monitor and identify trends.
  • Define KPIs for teams to improve company performance.

Qualifications For Data Scientist

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in dealing with data related technologies including database queries, programming, data mining/wrangling, analysis and reporting.
  • BEng or master’s in computer science, Data Science or any Engineering field
  • Interest in data, statistics, machine learning and data science is essential.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development along with logical and critical thinking.
  • Strong experience using statistical computer languages (Python, Scala, R, MATLAB) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
  • Comfortable working with datasets, applying basic to intermediate statistics (from mean, median, quartile to histograms, KNN, K-means, Bayesian logic).
  • Being able to read, write and query using SQL.
  • Experience using web services/languages: AWS, EC2, S3, Redshift, DigitalOcean etc.
  • Diligent and attentive to detail, have a strong work ethic and ability to collaborate with different teams in the company.
  • Experience in Excel is a plus.
