Decision / Data Scientist - Travel/Tourism

Hybrid - 2 days a week in Hemel Hempstead

Up to £60,000 + bonus

About the Role

We’re looking for aDecision Scientistto help shape pricing strategy and drive commercial performance through automation and data-led insight.

You’ll work closely with stakeholders across Commercial, Revenue Management, and Data Engineering to develop statistical and machine learning models that optimise pricing decisions and operational efficiency.

This is a high-impact role where your work will directly contribute to business growth, margin improvement, and the integration of smarter systems. If you’re technically strong and commercially minded, this could be the perfect next step.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Build and maintain advanced decision science models, algorithms, and tools
  • Optimise and automate various systems
  • Transform complex datasets into clear, actionable insights
  • Present findings to commercial and technical stakeholders
  • Support the automation of dynamic pricing systems
  • Stay up to date with the latest data science trends and technologies
  • Document methodologies for reproducibility and process transparency
  • Provide technical guidance to junior colleagues
  • Contribute to the broader analytics roadmap and innovation agenda

Key Measures of Success:

  • Commercial performance and pricing effectiveness
  • Timely delivery of models and analytical tools
  • Uplift in decision quality and operational efficiency

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field
  • Strong proficiency in Python, SQL
  • Hands-on experience with statistical analysis and machine learning
  • Able to translate complex data challenges into practical business solutions
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Knowledge of revenue management principles in a commercial setting
  • Familiar with project management processes
  • 2+ years of experience applying machine learning or statistical models in a commercial context
  • Understanding of Snowflake, AWS, and Microsoft SharePoint
  • Experience in hospitality, travel, or pricing optimisation sectors
