Are you passionate about data engineering and managing of data projects? This role will be responsible for managing data projects on behalf of the data engineering and business intelligence teams, providing technical and administrative support and expertise, with a focus on agile development practices.
The post holder will communicate with project stakeholders, analyse data requirements, get involved in data transformations and data management tasks, designing and maintaining tasks boards and project management documentation to enable the successful deployment of data projects. The successful candidate will provide essential support to the Data Engineering & BI teams as and when needed and play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of data and technology-driven projects.
Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business objectives and translate them into actionable data projects; specifically with business users to identify critical questions, pain points, and challenges they face
• Support with data warehousing and engineering tasks
• Scope and analyse business problems to develop solutions that deliver measurable business value, going beyond a mere checklist of technical requirements
• Develop detailed project plans, timelines and resource allocation
• Collate tasks and relevant milestones into a gantt chart
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies
• Organise and facilitate meetings with application users (Finance, Clinical Coding and Site Managers) to scope project, ensure that project objectives are being met and sign-off
• Coordinate project stages such as designing, testing, user acceptance testing,
• Capture Sign-off of security privilege validation and coordinate documentation creation
• Understand use case for existing Web applications and apps, as well as, desired outcomes for Qlikview to Qlik Cloud migration
• Support the wider team to transition to Qlik Cloud
• Communicate findings and insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, enabling them to make informed business decisions

· To communicate effectively with clinicians and managers on matters associated with the system design and development of solutions

Management Responsibilities
· Support the delivery of strategic data and service transformation projects within the sector which need to provide in-depth triangulated intelligence to inform decision making, business planning, and the measurement of improvement in performance and quality
· Foster a culture of customer service by working closely with the decision-support function, responding effectively to the needs of the organisation and pro-actively seeking to add value to the organisation through information analyses, tools and methods
· Foster close working relations with the Data, Digital, Performance, ICT and Finance departments in developing and maintaining quality information and information reporting systems
· Review and contribute to the development of Information Management and Data Quality policies and procedures to meet the needs of the Trust
· Support and mentor information team staff where possible
Person specification
Education and Qualifications
Desirable criteria
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI-ACP, or equivalent Agile certification
- Educated to degree level in computer or information science, data, engineering and or other technical disciplines or equivalent experience
- Experience working in cloud-based data environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and compliance considerations and a track record of working at a similar level in this specialist area
Experience
Essential criteria
- Track record of delivering data and analytics projects on time and within scope
- Strong ability to identify and understand business problems, translating them into effective solutions rather than focusing solely on delivering against a list of technical requirements
- Ability to structure, organize and drive multiple projects simultaneously and in a constantly evolving environment
- Proven experience of Agile environments, supporting sprint planning, scrum facilitation, backlog management, and daily stand-ups. Familiarity with agile and iterative working methodology and rapid user feedback gathering concepts
- Ability to adapt plans and priorities in response to changing business needs or technical challenges
- Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques to effectively present findings, namely QlikView and QlikSense
- Collaborate efficiently with both technical and non-technical individuals in a dynamic environment with evolving objectives and user iteration
- Experience managing dependencies risks and resource constraints in a fast paced environment
- Experience of using SQL programming and understanding of data engineering concepts, data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing

- Understanding of data modeling, dimensional modeling, and performance tuning.
Skills and knowledge
Essential criteria
- Proficiency in PRINCE2 for project management and Excel plus other tools (e.g. Visio)
- Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, cloud infrastructure and good software development practices
- Knowledge of version control / collaboration workflows and best practices
- Good understanding of data engineering concepts and experience working with large-scale datasets.
- Excellent knowledge of Qlik products, SQL, Excel
