Purpose of the Role

As Data Manager, you'll be at the centre of our data operations - designing, monitoring, and improving the pipelines that feed our data warehouse, ensuring data is accurate, secure, and ready to drive commercial success.

You will lead a small data team, architect resilient ELT pipelines in GCP Dataflow, manage and optimise BigQuery schemas, and establish robust data governance frameworks. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation, from sales to marketing, to ensure data is providing maximum business value.

Key Responsibilities

Design and maintain ELT pipelines in GCP Dataflow and BigQuery, ensuring seamless integration from multiple data sources including CRM and marketing platforms.

Architect and optimise data warehouse schemas to reflect business processes and enable efficient querying and analysis.

Document the context and usage of data - including its origins, purpose, and how it supports different business functions.

Gain a deep understanding of audience data, including engagement patterns and behaviours, to inform targeting and personalisation strategies.

Implement and enforce data governance policies, including access controls, retention schedules, and GDPR compliance.

Monitor pipelines and systems to ensure data quality and reliability, resolving anomalies and issues as they arise.

Lead and mentor a two-person data team, setting technical direction and fostering skill development.

Work collaboratively with campaign, sales, and marketing teams to deliver data solutions aligned to their objectives.

Plan and execute data initiatives such as integrating new sources, refining schemas, and improving governance frameworks.

About You

Proven experience building and maintaining ELT pipelines in a cloud environment (preferably Google Cloud Platform).

Proficient in SQL and experienced in data modelling, performance optimisation, and troubleshooting.

Strong understanding of data governance, compliance, and best practices.

Experience working with audience data and delivering insights to marketing and sales teams.

Skilled at translating complex data concepts into clear, actionable business insights.

Experienced leader with the ability to mentor and manage a small technical team.

Proactive problem-solver with both technical and strategic thinking abilities.
