Our Portfolio Management Team sits within the College's Technology and Technical Operations directorate. We are responsible for the strategic delivery of projects and transformation across key product lines including Teaching & Learning, Student Lifecycle, Research & Academic, Library, HR & Finance, Estates, and Cross-Functional services such as Business Insights, CRM and Customer Service Management.

We are now seeking a Business and Data Analyst to join our high-performing team to support strategic decision-making, streamline core business processes, and drive improvements in data management and digital services across the RCA.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Analyst who thrives on understanding and improving business processes, harnessing data to drive insight, and working collaboratively across complex organisations.

Working closely with Product Line Teams, Department Heads, Business Process Owners and external partners, you will analyse, document and improve both current and future business and data management processes. You will be integral in identifying and defining user needs, producing clear and actionable business requirements, and shaping technology-enabled solutions aligned to the College's wider strategy.

You will play a key role in supporting process reviews and the implementation of change, including acting as a Business Partner for specific faculties or service areas. This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll translate business needs into system and service enhancements that make a tangible impact for staff, students and stakeholders.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Conducting detailed analysis through interviews, workshops, surveys, and workflow analysis to understand business processes and user requirements.
  • Creating business cases and specifications using data-driven and user-centred design methods.
  • Mapping out and recommending improvements to business processes, data governance and digital systems.
  • Developing personas, journey maps and measurable usability criteria to support system and service design.
  • Evaluating and proposing technology and process change solutions that align with College strategy.
  • Supporting change programmes that address cultural, technological and organisational transformation.

You'll be an experienced Business Analyst with a strong grasp of business systems, process improvement, and data analytics. You'll bring:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn complex information into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Proven experience in business process analysis and data management.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • A collaborative, proactive approach and an eye for continuous improvement.
