Purpose of the role  

Colas Ltd. have an exciting opportunity for an Asset Assistant to join the Asset team on a part time (22.5 hours per week) 12 month FTC, the role will be based on site at the Portsmouth depot (PO6 1TA). Reporting to Asset Manager you will be responsible for coordinate out Road Restraint System and condition survey, Structures condition inspection review for proactive maintenance work package.

Main Responsibilities  

As an Asset Assistant for the Asset team your duties will include but not be limited to the following: You will be assisting in structure condition inspection reviews for proactive maintenance, updating structure asset element layer on GIS (system), assisting in VRS service inspection management, preparing and maintainaining structure asset maintenance management plan strategy. Your day to day will also include road marking test for retroreflectivity and skid test, scheme pavement material quality testing, compliance check and report. To carry out other appropriate duties as assigned by your line manager. To ensure that all operations carried out within your area of responsibility are undertaken with full regard for safety of visitors, other members of staff and yourself.

Ideal Candidate  

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Civil Engineering or Data Analyst. It is essential that you are comfortable with working with data and have dood ICT skills (Microsoft Word and Excel). Experience and knowledge of street lighting is desirable, not essential. If you have graduated in Data Analytics or Civil Engineering , this will be a great first role to get stuck into. Ultimately, if you are looking to get back into work and you have been in a similar role working with data before, we want to hear from you. A UK driving licence is desirable but not essential. 

Package Description

A salary between £24,000 and £25,000 (PRO RATA)
